Full policy (PDF): Wapping HC’s Covid-19 Protocol with additional guidance for coaches and team Covid Contact Points

Before training/local matches

Before your first session, ensure that you have signed the EH Participation Form and Wapping Consent Form.
Wear your playing kit.  No changing facilities are available on site.
Bring your own:

  • Hand sanitiser:
  • Tissues;
  • Face covering/mask;
  • Equipment (sticks; goalkeeper kit);
  • Labelled water bottle (to avoid mix ups);
  • Light and dark colour shirts - no team bibs allowed.

Before leaving the house, you must self-assess for any Covid-19 symptoms.  These include:

  • High temperature
  • New, continuous cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

If you - or any person in your household or support bubble - experiences any of these symptoms, has had a positive test for Covid-19, or has been told by NHS Track and Trace to self-isolate, you must not attend training and you must notify your CCP and the CO immediately.  See Section V for further details.
If you have returned to the UK from a country that is not on the UK travel corridor list and you are required to quarantine for 14 days, you must not attend training during that time.
Participants with underlying health issues or risk factors (for e.g. being from communities or groups with higher risk of Covid-19, including black, asian and minority ethnic participants) should consider whether they can return to hockey safely at this time.  It will be a personal decision for each individual; nobody should return until they feel safe to do so.

At training/friendly matches

Wash your hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser.
On arrival at training, register attendance with your team CCP and/or coach.

  • By attending training, you are consenting to Wapping HC storing a record of your training/hockey attendance.
  • This information will be stored securely and will be deleted after 21 days.
  • This information will be shared with EH and may be shared with NHS and the venues if necessary for track and trace purposes.

During training matches, do not shake hands with the opposition or touch team mates during celebrations.
If you experience any symptoms while at the hockey venue, you must return home immediately and notify your CCP and the CO.
